Specimen Requirements

  • Stability: analyte- and kit-specific; do not exceed validated time/temperature limits

ELISA/CLIA using gG antigens. Older non–type-specific assays are obsolete for type differentiation. HSV IgM is generally not recommended for genital herpes diagnosis.
