RSV rapid tests detect viral antigens in nasal/nasopharyngeal specimens using immunoassay methods.

Specimen Requirements
- Specimen: nasopharyngeal swab or aspirate per kit

Analytical Method
Lateral-flow or fluorescence immunoassays capture RSV antigens. Sensitivity is higher in young children than adults and lower than RT-PCR overall.
